welcome to
polish theatre society in sweden

Polish Theatre Society was founded in Stockholm in the autumn of 1993. Its aim is to introduce Polish theatre and culture to both Polish and Swedish audiences in Sweden. The society organises guest performances of professional theatres from Poland and supports a group of local young people working on their own productions. Until now we have staged seven own performances based on known dramas as well as original meterial.

Instead of concentrating only on theatre, we try to take active part in the life of the Polish community in Sweden as well. We take regularly part in the Polish Festival in Eskilstuna, organise poetry readings of some more or less famous Polish writers, go out to see theatre performances etc. We also try to help others in theatre related projects. Out group helped Intercult to build a theatre inside Skeppsholm church in Stockholm for the performances of the world famous Theatre Gardzienice and Theatre Derevo in October 1998.

Our work is made possible by membership fees. Our members receive once in a month current information about our activities. They also receive a discount on tickets to every performance organised by the Society. If you have questions about membership, please contact Pawel Dabrowski.
